Munster Marine started out in the late 60’s on Rutland Street, Cork City, building small dinghies in fibreglass. Occupying the attic loft of the 18th century tannery before moving out to Midleton to a purpose-built workshop. For 30 years Munster Marine built custom GRP products for clients across the construction and marine industries. Boat hulls, grain storage bins, fish tanks and more. In the early 2000’s a second move to our current facility took place, expanding the warehousing capacity and allowing for the further development of our sister company Glassfibre and Resin Supplies.
Munster Marine took on selling Hobie Kayaks and Advanced Elements and brought these high-quality brands to the Irish market for the first time. From 1998 until 2018 we built the Berny Cat, a 5 metre day boat designed for the Brittany coast. 56 of these French-designed classic sail boats were built and exported to France. In 2011 we built 26 TR 3.6 dinghies for the ISAF World Team Racing Championships in Schull, Co. Cork.
