Builders of the I.O.D.A 95 One Design HARTY Optimist
The HARTY Optimist was developed by David Harte of The Oppy Shop using his years of experience in the Optimist class as Prototype measurer and consultant for IODA. In this capacity David travelled to all Optimist builders worldwide giving him unique insight into the manufacturing requirements of this deceptively difficult to build strictly one-design dinghy. David has been the National Optimist Coach for many years and still coaches up-and- coming sailors in the beautiful surroundings of Schull harbour, West Cork.
In 2004 David teamed up with Munster Marine to meet the growing demand for the HARTY Optimist. Combining the manufacturing skills and modern facility of Munster Marine with David’s firsthand experience ensures that the HARTY Optimist can continue to be built to the highest standard. We believe our Optimist to be one of the best-finished and stiffest Optimists on the market.
Munster Marine supplies the full range of Optiparts accessories for all your Optimist needs. We also supply the Quantum Toni Tio sails, crosscut, radial and the new TR-1for the sailor from 35 kg to 52kg+.
